I have been a regular client of James’ for over three years and always leave our sessions feeling extremely cared for. His knowledge of the body, especially as it connects to sports and movement, and his ability to provide tailored and holistic massage therapy sessions are unmatched! James is an integral part of my health care team, and has now supported me throughout my pregnancy, postpartum period, and for all of those general and emergent discomforts, ailments, and life stressors! During my pregnancy, I had consistent back pain starting around 20 weeks. James was extremely adaptable to massaging me in whatever position felt most comfortable. He also facilitated an invaluable session for me and my partner, where he taught my partner different techniques so I could continue reaping the benefits of massage at home and during my labor. That session was a gift that keeps on giving. I cannot sing James’ praises enough!

I’ve wanted to get back in shape for some time now, but I was never able to do it on my own. I don’t know how many times I told myself “I should go for a run today” or “I should lift some weights”, but there was always something else I’d rather do and it just didn’t work. What does work is to sign up for a regular class and commit to going. And James’ class is a good one for a bunch of reasons. One, It’s not just jumping or lifting for no reason, it’s mentally engaging. Every exercise you do is designed to build your strength up to be able to perform some specific technique. Two, he structures it so the exercises are accessible to most any fitness level – you can go as hard or as easy as you want. Three, it’s not just exercise. You’re learning a very particular set of skills that, once you have them down, really improve your odds in a hand to hand combat situation. And four, James is an excellent teacher. He doesn’t teach some dogmatic fighting style. He teaches a real-world practical approach to fighting. And he breaks it down into steps so when you put it all together it feels natural and makes sense. I’m very happy with the class and recommend it to anyone who wants to build their fitness and learn how to conduct themselves in a fight.

For myself, James inspires me to approach my fitness from a whole body perspective. I get annual blood work done, according to those blood draws, I am usually really healthy. Just got my blood drawn for the year and I am the healthiest that I have ever been. The clinician was shocked, she said, “you are aging in reverse.” I really think a big part of that is how much healthier Ive gotten regularly doing the H2H Fundamentals class. I am thankful for the space for us to care for ourselves, be in our power and to stay well

These classes challenged me, but also made me feel cared for and supported. James made each session exciting and engaging, and I would go home afterwards filled with energy and enthusiasm. Highly recommend these for anybody who wants to feel more in tune with their body and what it can do.
I was able to climb to reach what would have been previously unreachable plums, and help my brother unload the moving truck and get all the heavy furniture and boxes inside with just the 2 of us. Thank you for helping me to restore/gain confidence, comfort, and resilience in my body.
